Blackbeard for Men is patented, water-resistant brush-on hair colour specially designed for men’s facial hair. It is NOT a dye.

It can be used on its own to touch up grey patches in your beard, moustache, sideburns and eyebrows, or even to tidy up roots if you use dye and want an easier in-between option.

Blackbeard for Men is hypoallergenic and non-toxic when used as directed. It was developed with a leading manufacturer of hair care and cosmetics products using approved, well-established colourants used safely for decades.

It has been independently safety tested by TÜV Rheinland Laboratories, and has been tested and certified 100% mercury-free. It is also PFAS-free (no “forever chemicals”).

Patch test recommended: Put a small dot on your arm 24 hours before first use, especially if you have known sensitivities. If you experience rash, itching, or dry skin, discontinue use and consult a physician.

Formula X is designed to be resistant to smudging, so normal day-to-day use (like wiping your mouth with a napkin) is usually fine.

That said, because it’s not permanent like dye, some fading can happen over time and it can wipe off with aggressive rubbing or face washing.

• Apply using the side of the brush very lightly.
• Use a tissue or beard brush to tamp down and blend to create an even stubble look (and fill gaps).

Blackbeard for Men removes easily from hard surfaces using isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Put a little alcohol on a tissue and rub.

Blackbeard works best on a clean, dry moustache/beard/sideburns. We generally do not recommend applying moisturiser right before using Blackbeard, as extra oil can reduce adhesion and increase smudging.

Using moisturiser before bed (after washing Blackbeard off) is fine.

Beard oil: If you like the sheen, apply a tiny amount (about a pea) and distribute lightly with a brush. Avoid applying oil before the colour, and don’t use too much.

Blackbeard for Men may stain some fabrics. Wash with soap and cold water.

Wash it off completely in the shower, otherwise some residue may rub off on your towel. It’s also wise to wash off before bed if you use light-coloured sheets.
